Jump Boost raises your jump height and reduces fall damage, turning one-block hops into two-block leaps at higher levels.
Brew a Potion of Leaping from an awkward potion and a rabbit's foot for three minutes of Jump Boost I, extend with redstone, or upgrade to Jump Boost II with glowstone. Beacons can grant it as a primary effect, and suspicious stew with cornflower gives a short burst.
Jump Boost II lets you clear two-block walls without sprinting, which changes how you move through bases and caves. It also reduces fall damage slightly per level, a quiet bonus that pairs well with mountain exploration.
The effect ID for Jump Boost is minecraft:jump_boost. Java Edition 1.13+ /effect commands use this namespaced form. On Java 1.12.2 and earlier the numerical ID was 8.
Run /effect give @p minecraft:jump_boost 60 1 to get Jump Boost II for 60 seconds. The first number is the duration in seconds; the second is the amplifier (0 = level I, 1 = level II). Remove it with /effect clear @p minecraft:jump_boost.
Jump Boost is a beneficial (positive) status effect in Minecraft Java Edition, based on its registry category (beneficial).
Drink a Potion of Leaping, brewed with a rabbit's foot from rabbit hunting. Beacons can also provide Jump Boost in range, and glowstone upgrades the potion to Jump Boost II.
A normal jump clears 1.25 blocks; Jump Boost II raises that to about 2.5 blocks, letting you hop two-block walls. It also reduces fall damage by one heart per level.
