About the Slowness Effect

Slowness cuts walking speed by 15 percent per level and narrows the field of view, and at high enough levels it can pin a player nearly in place.

How to Get Slowness in Survival

Players usually meet Slowness through a Potion of Slowness, brewed by corrupting a Potion of Swiftness or Leaping with a fermented spider eye. The Potion of the Turtle Master bundles Slowness IV with Resistance III from turtle scutes, and cobwebs and bogged fights deliver it in combat.

Using Slowness Well

Splash Slowness is underrated in PvP and mob control because it cripples escape and chase speed at once. Slowness VI from the Turtle Master potion at higher tiers slows you so much that you can barely move, which is the price of its massive damage reduction.
