How to Get Diamond Ore
Diamond Ore generates between Y=16 and Y=-63 and gets more common the deeper you go, with the richest layers around Y=-50 to Y=-64; ore blocks often skip generating when exposed to air, so strip-mining rivals caving. It needs an iron pickaxe or better and drops 1 diamond plus 3–7 experience; Fortune III averages 2.2 diamonds per block, and Silk Touch moves the block intact.
- Descend below Y=16—branch-mine around Y=-53 for the best balance of density and lava safety.
- Mine the blue-flecked ore with an iron pickaxe or better; anything weaker destroys it.
- Collect the diamonds, ideally with a Fortune III pickaxe for a chance at 2–4 per block.
